Test Tube Holder (for Prusa i3)

Test Tube Holder (for Prusa i3)

thingiverse

This is a variation of my Test Tube Holder (for Prusa Mendel) thing, which allows you to securely and conveniently mount a test tube to your printer. (I use test tubes to hold ABS juice, which I use to prepare the print bed for prints.) This version is modified to fit the Prusa i3 cut from 6.5mm MDF, and it incorporates nut traps so you can use M3 screws to hold the pieces securely in place. Let me know if you need other thicknesses, and I can either change it or get the OpenSCAD file ready for upload. Instructions Print the parts. The two parts in the file hold the test tube pretty securely, but I included a second upper clip in the photo because I already had it printed. I printed with 3 layers top/bottom, two perimeters, and 15% infill. Drill out the holes to 3mm and melt a nut into each trap. I used set screws in the photo, but you can also use standard M3 screws. Mount the parts onto the side of the printer opposite the X axis motor so you don't limit your Z axis.
