These are some initial designs for 3D printed parts for making the Tethered Electric Airplane project. Use a dowel (or a pencil) for the fuselage, and a small wire to create the hinge between the elevator/rudder and the tail. Use a fine piece of tape to hold the elevator/rudder in position and adjust for best flight characteristics. Use a hot wire cutter and templates to cut the airfoil... although in a pinch a flat sheet of foam or balsa will work. If you are planning to 3D print the prop, beware that PLA printed props will shatter upon impact and create a lovely flying field of plastic shrapnel. Remember to wear eye protection at all times when those props are spinning! (Thanks to Haejin for letting me share her prop design!)
