Tetrix Spool

Tetrix Spool

thingiverse

A modified spool design, originally coming from user dstewartrobots. This was modified for FTC Team 3736 (Serious Business) with a few notable improvements: This model features 8mm sunk screw heads on the top and bottom. That way, a normal tetrix long screw can fit all the way through, and leave enough room for it to screw into parts on the other side. It includes two integrated holes for putting medium sized screws through, and allows them to be drilled into the flat part of a bar. It includes a little hole where you can put the string through, for your convenience. c: Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Infill: 50% (Dense) Notes: This was printed on an Ultimaker 2+ with a 0.6 mm nozzle, on the Normal Quality preset (0.15 mm), in grey PLA. Sliced in Cura 2.3.1. Post-Printing Clean-up Right now, the three major things you have to focus on for cleaning up the print: Filing the inside holes to remove any overhang/loose material strands. Drilling out the two holes on top with a 1/6" drill bit (I believe). Opening up the wire hole on the side of the top. All this can be finished in 10 minutes with an xacto knife, sandpaper, and a small enough file to push through the holes. How I Designed This Design Started off with dstewartrobots' design, imported into SolidWorks 2016, and modified all manually.
