just updated to the "longfang" version. got sick of my first layers being obscured when i need to tweak the Z! erm...all basically the same except its now mounted above the extruder fan with necessary modifications.. also just changed my fan from the standard 10mm(x30x30) to a 15mm type. may need to make a 5mm packer for standard fans ;) now i have to find longer screws, dammit. currently printing... if it needs changes...i shall update again! print cooling fan duct thingy for the tevo tarantula. sort of looks like a set of fangs after finishing the drawing, so why not? very effective cooling, fan clips on (no bolt!) but does need 5mm longer screws to attach to existing hotend cooling fan. designed for radial blower fan, not the axial type. i may modify and add at some point...unlikely! this one actually wires into the socket on the board labelled "fan", unlike the other two fans (that should be attached directly to the 12v power supply...unless theres another place to stick them?) Print Settings Printer: tarantula, tevo Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm works fine if you dont need super fine finish... Infill: its 99% hollow already, but i used 30% infill... Notes: maybe its just my thermistors arent calibrated yet (heck, ive only had this thing for a short time , still havent played around much!) but i find i need to set it at at least 260C for ABS or i get delamination... Post-Printing pop it off and clean off the strings, if any... acetone bath if you want it all shiny and smooth :) yes, i tend to only use ABS... How I Designed This used sketchup, as always. laid out the basic dimensions of the hotend, then draw around that :) fitted first go, but did have to adjust a few things, such as the ducts being a tad too close to the hotend and melting at first, decided that 1/2mm clearance between ducts and prints wasnt really enough, mucked around with angles etc. added guide vanes into the ducts as the air tended to come out at the far end more at first... currently the two streams combine and give very nice airstream with the old "smoke" test.
