This is a low filament sensor mount for optical endstop sensor. Optical endstop sensors do not come in contact with the filament and are accurate enough to provide binary information on if one is running out of filament. This can be interfaced with OctoPrint (http://plugins.octoprint.org/plugins/filament_sensor) or Marlin (https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/Marlin/wiki/Filament-Sensor) to pause print when filament is low.
