Transverse flux machine (TFM) is a very interesting technology for electric motors and generators. Machines of this type work well where there are low speeds and high torque The transverse flux technology was first described by W. M. Morday, who got patent in 1895. In TFM generator there is only one coil inside the iron yoke. It is also possible to make a 3-phase generator.
