They are given the serial number 60011. They are the first series of "inter-series re-coupling" of TGV made in a sustainable way by the SNCF. In fact, SNCF separated the elements of an order for 19 Duplex trainsets, which included14: 19 sections of double-deck trailers, identical to those of the first TGV Duplex trainsets (series 200); 38 Duplex cauldron-based locomotives, tricurrent in construction (instead of simply dual-current), making them suitable for operation on the German and Swiss networks. These 38 tri-current power cars were hooked up to 19 sections of Christian Lacroix refurbished Network trailers, to form the "4400" series of POS TGVs. The 38 dual-current Réseau locomotives thus released were attached to the 19 new Duplex trailer sections. They were given an adapted livery identical to the entire "Duplex" family, thus forming the Réseau Duplex11 trainsets. Also called "duplex" (with a lower case "d"), there are 19 of these, numbered 601 to 619, all attached to the Technicentre Sud-Est Européen11. This rearrangement allowed SNCF to maintain the delivery rate of Duplex, which was considered a priority14. Train 218 (seen here at Paris-Nord) ran with the reserve dual-current Network 28077 engine, giving it a Network Duplex appearance on one end only. Notes: the TGV Duplex prototype was composed of Réseau power cars (including 28003 of the former 502 dual-current trainset, later reused on the AGV15 "Elisa" prototype); the transformers of the Network power cars having been originally designed to supply Duplex cars, no technical modification was necessary14; a hybrid trainset had been created following an accident in 2003, when a Réseau power car replaced its Duplex counterpart. From the end of January 2009 to September 2012, trainset 255 also ran with this configuration, following the online fire of one of its power cars on 10 January 2009 at Pont-de-Veyle ; this also happened for the 204 trainset in 2008 (using the aforementioned 28003 power unit), the 290 trainset from 2013 to 2015 (following the fire of one of its power units on 23 September 2013, at Lyon-Part-Dieu station16), and then on other trainsets (such as the 218, 234 and 201) thereafter; this concept is not a heresy in itself. The Réseau and Duplex motrices are interchangeable, as they both have a similar (but different from the Dasye) synchronous motorisation, as well as compatible computer equipment. Moreover, they are multiplexable: it is thus frequent to see compositions of a Réseau and a Duplex trainset in multiple units (notably between Lille and Marseille). From now on, the TGV Réseau Duplex trainsets are gradually being fitted with the Carmillon11 livery; the first trainset so treated is the 602.
