TH-D72A Antenna Spacer

The Diamond SRH77CA antenna is a popular aftermarket upgrade for the Kenwood TH-D72A radio. The antenna base has a diameter of 11mm and the radio accepts antennas with a diameter of up to 17mm. This is a spacer to fill the gap between the antenna and the radio. It is designed to match the shape of the radio as much as possible. I am using this for two reasons: 1. Aesthetic (this is the primary purpose) 2. Added support for antenna. The fit is "snug" but not too tight. The added surface area against the radio body should theoretically provide some small amount of support for the SMA connector. Note: it is not a good idea to use this if the fit is too tight. You can strain the SMA connector while screwing in the antenna. If necessary, you can use some sandpaper to bore out the inside diameter a little.
