The Alien

This model is based on a concept for an amphibious alien species. It has a lot of lizard like elements with just hints of aquatic capabilities. I designed a robe like clothing that they’d wear. Very loose and made of a plastic or metal material that can get wet. They had a tripod contraption to help move on land effectively. I think the most intriguing part of this project was creating the materials for the skin. I decided to make it a blend of human skin with layered subsurface but then give it higher glossy values and a slightly more waxy appearance to convey waterproofing. Disclaimer -This model was made in Blender, and is only meant to work in Blender. As such some features may not be included in 3ds Max, Maya, or other 3D Software. Specifics Software: Blender 2.78.5
