The Aptian Marizal Fm in the Cargueira Range

The Cargueira Range is located in the southern border of the Raso da Catarina Ecological Station, NE-Bahia, Brazil. In this area the Marizal Fm is characterized by large-scale inclined heterolithic strata (IHS) truncated by conglomerate deposits (features not clear in the 3D model due low resolution). These fluvial deposits are exposed on up to 30 m high and 500 m long sandstone-dominated walls. Approximately E-W oriented deformation bands can be observed in the 3D model.
