The Beast! - Aurora A3 Fan Duct - Redux...Again

From my previous Aurora A3 Hot-End Cooling Fan Ducts:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1343609 (Remix)http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1351186 I'm from the school that believes breaking more wind is better (at least for PLA). And to that end, I present: The BEAST. Arguably one of the ugliest Fan Ducts ever designed. And this thing really blows...wind. Specifically for the Aurora A3 printer, this may be the biggest fan duct that will fit it without running into anything. And it doesn't touch the hot-end or run into the build plate height adjustment screws. I've optimized it to not decrease air flow volume anywhere (well, except where those pesky wires come out the side of the hot-end). Along with that, the air channels are directed downward to point right at the hot-end tip. I tested this with water flow, and interestingly enough, it creates a vortex around the center. I printed this in clear (natural) PLA so I can see the airflow and all the moving parts inside (hahahahahahaaa!!) However, even with the baffle in the front of the duct, there is still significantly more air coming out of the front than the back. Perhaps my next design will be able to remedy that... Update: v5a1 is for installs where the heating coil is in front of the nozzle - it brings the shroud in 6.5mm closer to accommodate that. The original version, v5a, is for the nozzle in front of the heating coil. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: JG Aurora A3 Prusa I3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 15% or 100% Notes: The walls are only .5mm thin and only the base at the curve is any thicker. So printing at 15% or 100% infill doesn't make but maybe .25m difference. And only uses about 4.5m filament.
