If your filament spool holder tugs back too hard sometimes, this could be an answer. I created it in an attempt to rule out spool friction issues in Voron Issue 6. It seems to help.

This thing uses your old worn out v-slot wheels to unspool your filament without friction. It can mount to your frame with a M5 bolt and hammerhead nut (or slide/roll in) or you can use a drywall screw to attach it nearby as pictured.

It may not work well in situations where there are very large retractions that can send your spool spinning mercilessly inviting possible tangles. It's worked well for me for direct drive (eg, Voron afterburner) hotends that don't need to retract much or send the spool spinning.

Assembly is not terribly complicated. Just snap two vslot wheel bearings into the obvious spots. It's a tight fit but most filaments will tolerate your forcing them in.
