The GK61 Special - A Gasket Mount Case for the GK61

INTRO: This is a gasket mount case for the GK61 PCB and plate. PRINTING RECOMMENDATION: I would recommend printing this case upright, to eliminate pixelation along the incline. BACKGROUND: I have posted several 3d-printed cases for standard 60% plates and PCBs, but have been neglecting the GK61. This case is an ode to the GK61, which possesses a couple of features that allow for the implementation of a gasket mount: (1) the plate extends beyond the PCB by about 1mm at the top and the bottom and (2) the openings on the PCB for the side standoff screws are open, instead of enclosed. This means that standoffs can rest directly on the plate or a gasket--instead of on the PCB--at the top, bottom, and sides of the case. ASSEMBLY: You will need a GK61 plate and PCB, and gasket material of about 4mm diameter. The gasket will not ring the entire plate/PCB, so only a short length is necessary: 500 mm should be more than sufficient. [https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.0.0.26402e8dALgGgH&id=613137269072&_u=120rh52ke619] Once you have screwed the plate to the PCB and inserted the switches (or at least the switches around the perimeter of the keyboard), you will need to place the gasket material between the plate and the PCB. At the top, you can place the gasket along the entire length of the plate, or at discrete segments, as you prefer. At the bottom, you will only be able to place the gasket on either side of the space bar, because the space bar stabilizer wire juts out. Finally, the side standoffs will only allow for a small segment of gasket. You will then insert the gasketed plate/PCB into the case. There will be friction between the gasket and the sides of the case. ALTERNATE VERSIONS: Weight Version: This is the same as the gasket version, but with a space for the metal weight sold here: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.0.0.4c702e8d6E83x3&id=560138068179&_u=h20rh52k563e Non-Gasket Version: This is non-gasket version of the case where the standoffs rest directly on the plate, instead of on gaskets. The standoffs in this version are 10mm, whereas the standoffs in the gasket version are 6.5mm. MISCELLANEOUS: I am not sure whether the two versions of the case will fit other GK6* plates or PCBs. If (1) the dimensions of the plate are 288 mm x 97 mm; (2) the plate extends beyond the PCB at the top and bottom; and (3) the PCB side standoff screw openings are open and at the same positions as the GK61, there is a good chance that this case will work. UPDATE: October 7, 2020: I've successfully printed out both the gasket and non-gasket versions. In particular, the gasket version works exactly as planned. March 9, 2021: Added photos for a print I started in copper PLA. I also globally deleted the term, "pseudo-," from "pseudo-gasket mount." I don't think the qualifier is necessary.
