The Hammerhead - Handheld Kinect Grip

The Kinect was designed to sit in front of a TV, not carried around in your hand. Since I've started playing with Kinect Fusion style 3D scanning, ie: http://reconstructme.net - I found it awkward to carry it around and point it at things. So I decided it needed a handle. Since this creates a standard tripod mount screw on the top of the pistol grip, it can be used to attach to anything that is made to connect to tripods. So it should work with most cameras and other Kinect tripod adapters. Also, if you happen to have a real AR-15 grip, you could probably use that too. Make Art, Not War! Instructions Besides the printed parts, you'll need: 2 x 1/4"-20 nuts 4 x M2.6x8 cap screws (or better yet #4 - 1/2" Phillips Pan Head Boss Screw) 2 x 1/4"-20 screws 0.75" long Because of overhang, I added a 1 layer thick wall in the main shaft above the trapped nut on the adapter. Just push through it with the end of a screwdriver. Also, the internal screw hole on the adapter is slightly undersized so that you can tighten it by digging teeth into the plastic when you screw it in to attach it to the pistol grip.
