Legends tell of a mighty Viking-themed lid designed for a whisky glass. Behold, the Helm of Glencairn! Originally designed by 4MULE8. In trying to print this I experienced a few problems: Plenty of them related to the needed 'bridging' mentioned in 4MULE8's print notes. I has difficulty snapping off the supports on the sides when using some filaments. It did not fit the smaller Glencairn glasses. (Add to this that my printer was going through a fase of printing round things oval). My solution was to adapt the interior of the Helm and 'cut' a few bits off the horn-supports. Nine attempts later: I am now happy to present you with the DUO-size Helm of Glencairn! The same helm will fit the small size and the normal size (and the slightly thicker glasses from Highland Park Appreciation Society). Print Settings Printer: Sculpto Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Fine (0,15 mm) Notes: PLA How I Designed This Copied from 4MULE8's notes Designed to print without additional supports. There are two supports already included in the STL file, which snap off cleanly after printing.
