The HIVE - Custom fit

The HIVE - Custom fit

The original HIVE drawers had a terrible fit for me. Looking at the size of the hex-connectors, it seemed that was by design (possibly to make sure it would fit for EVERYONE), unless you were over-extruding by a lot. I did not want to print wobbly drawers, so I created an openSCAD thing to customize the fit. It is designed to work with the original drawers, just with a better fit. The openSCAD script requires the V5 STL file to be in the same folder, so download the V5 STL as well as the .scad file for customization. Set the "part" to "test" and print one of those deliberately small parts for testing the fit for every iteration. The "hexDiamater" is set to the value which produced a good fit for me by default. I've added a V6 module STL file, which had a good fit on my printer. See the original Thing for details on printing settings (though I definitely did not need to scale the drawer down to 99%.) I also found the knobs to be quite short, and I've increased their length to 125% while slicing. The original mounting bracket also doesn't fit well, so I've added a replacement for that too.
