The Ideal Scout

In front of the local Boy Scouts headquarters here in Sioux Falls, SD is a wonderful bronze copy of R. Tait McKenzie's "The Ideal Scout" or "Boy Scout" as he's more widely known. This life-sized copy stands proudly on a block of the local stone, pink Sioux quartzite. He's one of many copies that stand all over the United States and overseas. Please see this Wikipedia link for more information on the original: https://goo.gl/p8fI9D How I Designed This I shot about 200 photos around the statue and his block pedestal. At the time, I unwisely used JPG instead of RAW for the photo file choice. This mistake resulted in limited information for Agisoft Photoscan to work from as most of the photos were either blown out or deep in shadow. I enhanced the photos as best as I could in Lightroom before beginning the process of creating this model. I ran Photoscan on a medium setting at all steps. The resulting model, while not my best work, was still usable. I imported the OBJ file into Meshmixer to scale it, clean it up and repair it. I then exported it to Meshlab where I double-checked my work again, then exported it as a final STL file. I hope you enjoy it.
