THE Jelly Bean Dispenser

THE Jelly Bean Dispenser is a simple, interactive, and easy to print candy machine that looks great on any table! I designed this to be used at events so younger students can have something to interact with that shows off the capabilities of 3D printing. I will also be using this as a simple assembly assignment for my upper level CAD students. All parts fit together very well and everything works great! The JellyBeanDispenser.stl file has a small overhang for the groove, but it still printed out just fine for me, but could possibly use some supports if you would like. STEP 2 - Cut out a piece of plexi-glass or glass. I used a .100" (or 2.5mm) thick piece of plexi-glass cut at 3" x 7". I then used a band saw to cut out a small rectangle to allow access to the jelly beans. I will include a STL file for a 3D printed version if you happen to have a translucent plastic to use (clearsheet.stl). I also uploaded a PDF with dimensions to help out with this as well. STEP 3 (Construction) - Start with the Bottom.stl and then add the JellyBeanDispenser.stl on top of the grooves. This should be a snug fit and it may require a little persuasion. Next add your plexi-glass. Now add your Shaft and Control Knob. I included a hole for a 6-32 x 1.25" bolt with a 6-32 nut to hold the knob to the shaft. This should not be necessary because it is a very tight fit, but wouldn't hurt. Last, add your Top.stl file. STEP 4 - Add your Jelly Beans (other candies would work as well) and then put your plug in the top. ENJOY!
