Gimli's STL. A dwarf warrior, Gimli, son of Gloin, is one of the main characters in the Lord of the Rings book series, written by British author J. R. R. R. Tolkien. Appointed to be part of the Fellowship of the Ring, to accompany Frodo Baggins on his journey to Mordor with the aim of destroying the one ring, Gimli is irascible and full of distrust towards his companions, although as the adventures go by, especially from their encounters in Moria and Lorien, he develops a deep bond of friendship with the rest of the characters. Always armed with a Dwarven battle axe, with a strong build and great determination, Gimli fights bravely in battles such as Helm's Deep and the Fields of Pelenor. After the conflict of the Ring, he became a great leader for his people by founding a new kingdom in Aglarond. Gimli ended his days in the Undying Lands thanks to the permission of Galadriel, whom the dwarf considered the most beautiful woman in Middle-earth. In the film adaptation directed by Peter Jackson, Gimli was played by actor John Rhys Davis.
