The Matrix Coaster

The Matrix Coaster

myminifactory

I've been toying with this one for a while but it's never one I really got around to.... until I decided it was time to pull my finger out and finally get on with it. I'm sure, since by being here you've proved you're a fellow techno-nerd, that you've seen The Matrix. If not I recommend seeing it; the original is an all-time classic, the sequels aren't as good but still they're worth the watch.  The iconic image from the movie is the screen with the Matrix 'waterfall' code in the background, so naturally this was what I wanted to do.  Yes, I know that in the movie the waterfall is composed of numbers but that would be wayyyyy outside the resolution of my printer.  Nonetheless I'm quite happy with this (although I realised AFTER I'd finished that I have another shade of green filament which is darker, so I could have printed the top sections of the waterfall traces darker.  Oh well...) I'm not going to lie to you; it's a cast-iron bitch to assemble.  Prepare for long hours with tweezers, and a lot of bad, adult language when you drop the smaller parts (and you will).  The coaster is able to upgraded with 3x5mm neodymium magnets, turning it into a magnetic plaque, and is available printed and assembled in my Etsy store - www.etsy.com/uk/shop/enterprisexddesign
