"The Matrix" Head Jack

"The Matrix" Head Jack

A few versions of the head jack from The Matrix; I designed this in OnShape based on stills from the movie. I printed mine in blue PLA/PLH from MatterHackers, then sanded, coated in Antique Silver Rub'n'Buff, and added black acrylic paint in the crevices for "grime". If you have time, I'd recommend that you get some silver filament instead and start with that. These props were used in our April Fool's 2019 joke at Hackster.io: https://blog.hackster.io/introducing-the-hackjack-with-neosound-a-revolutionary-cyborg-device-by-hackster-io-d6dc73936547 (The article is a collaboration with our CEO Adam Benzion, and our designer Mike Gorrell created the photos.) The files: • head-jack.stl – The original version, but flat so you can stick it to your head with double-sided tape. This was surprisingly convincing! (I stuck it onto my short hair, 1/8"-1/4") • head-jack-full.stl – The original version, with a hypothetical "barrel jack" behind it so it looks like the entire implant. • HackJack-flat.stl – Updated wearable version, with the Hackster logo in the center ("a new, bladed connector for higher surface area and more bandwidth").
