The Pioneer: a 250-Size FPV Quadcopter

As the name suggests, the Pioneer is a 250-Size quadcopter that is built on a fully 3D-printed frame. It took multiple revisions to get it flying stable - currently its flight is comparable to a store-bought 250 frame with custom electronics. I will provide a list of electronics I use, but keep in mind that any similar components should work. The only challenge would be that you may need to design your own platforms or mounts that attach to the main platform so that the parts fit. This is especially true for the motor arms - In the 'Post-Printing' section, I will give the dimensions for the arms' mounting holes so that you can use your own preferred CAD tool to draw up arms that fit, if you require. You will also need to draw up a platform to mount your own power distribution board. The one I'm using is a generic board with 5V BEC and mounting holes that are identical to the CC3D flight controller. I have uploaded the AutoCAD .dwg files for the main platform, flight controller platform, and arms, so that you can modify them to fit your own components. Electronics Used: -Motors: DYS BE-2204 (2400kV) brushless outrunners -ESCs: Generic 20A brushless quadcopter ESCs -Flight Controller: OpenPilot CC3D (now branded as LibrePilot I think) -FPV: Generic Sony 800TVL camera, with 600mW transmitter -Receiver: Generic 2.4GHz 6-channel -Battery: 3s 2200mAh LiPo -Props: 5030 tri-blade. With careful cable management, you should be able to fit 6 inch props as well. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 300 micron Infill: 10-20% Notes: Print one of everything, except the arms. You need to print the arms as follows: 4x Top (of which 2 are mirrored) and 4x Bottom (of which 2 are mirrored) Supports are not needed, but you may need to orientate the .stl files so that they lay flat on the bed. Post-Printing Everything is mounted together using M3 bolts and nuts. The length of the bolts for the flight controller platform and landing gear is slightly longer, but the others use 10mm long bolts. Totally, you will need at least: -16x M3 10mm bolts with nuts (4 per motor) -7x M3 30mm (at least) bolts with nuts (4 for fc platform, 2 for landing gear, 1 for FPV camera) -Additional M3 bolts to mount your own custom parts, if needed -Many, many zipties to hold everything together
