Pluto is a dwarf planet that is on the outskirts of our solar system. It is so far away that it takes light from the Sun, on average, 5.5 hours to reach Pluto. It can also be considered a binary system because its largest moon is very large compared to Pluto. The two bodies gravitational influence on each other is so great that it causes both of them to orbit an empty point outside of either body. This model of the Pluto/Charon system and is made up of only basic textured spheres. It has been scaled so that on unit = 1 kilometer. The anniversary of Pluto's discovery is on 13 March. To celebrate, I uploaded this interesting infographic on Thingimajigs.com Other related models are: ---------------------------------- Pluto (on its own) Charon (on its own) Enjoy!
