The Sandy Spring located on the Underground Railroad Experience Trail in Sandy Spring, MD. This was a landmark used by those escaping slavery on the Underground Railroad. The cement covering was built in 1914 and marks the year 1745 – the year the local Quaker group established the Sand Springs Friends Meeting House.
