Simply insert the two mounting plugs into the alignment tool, place against a tree/post, drive each screw through the hole in the center of the mounting plugs, and place the Spawning Site onto the plugs. You're done! Placement: Black capped chickadees (as well as wrens, bluebirds, and tree swallows) prefer nests with thick cover. Place the Spawning Site near a bush or small tree. This also provides shade, protection, and supplies for the birds to build their nest. The optimal height for this nesting box is 4' to 6' above ground. Nest Materials (optional): If you're anxious and want to coax the birds into the box, provide the appropriate nesting materials. Wrens nest with sticks, bluebirds with grass, tree swallow with chicken, duck, and game bird feathers, and chickadees with moss and dog hair.
