The USTS (Under-Shelf Tray System)

I took the original concept (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3402746) and redesigned it in multiple parts for better strength with FDM printing. In the process I made the design modular so multiple trays can be assembled together without the need for additional hanger brackets. I've also added a set screw in the hanger brackets to make them adjustable for any thickness shelving (up to 20mm). The whole system assembles with M3 screws and nuts. _______________________________________________________ Update 2/26: I have updated all files with design tweaks to improve fitment, modularity and usability. I've also added a 240mm wide by 200mm deep tray for documents and longer objects. _______________________________________________________ Update 2/27: I printed a couple sets of brackets and trays yesterday to test the design and make improvements. This morning I assembled the first 'final' design and everything went together as expected. I had some trouble getting to the lower screws inside the 80mm tray so I may make some revisions to the assembly method for the 40mm and 80mm sizes. Otherwise, everything seems to work nicely - especially the adjustable hanger/shelf thickness screws which not only ensure a secure hold on smaller shelves but also serve to lock the assembly into place. FYI I am printing all of this with a 0.8mm nozzle in black PETG for testing. I will continue to use the black hangers I've already made (they're STRONG with 6x1mm perimeters!), but going forward I will reprint the trays and the infill in various colors and materials. Tonight I will print my first documents tray and assemble it to my current 80mm tray. I'll add pictures when I have them. _______________________________________________________ Update 2/28: I printed the document tray twice with failed outcomes. A third try with a 6mm brim and no fan did the trick and I finally got a good-enough print to assemble into my USTS this morning. It's large enough to hold paper and longer objects and installs nicely between my two 80mm trays. I am probably done adding trays to the kit for now but I will be making new infill inserts for the smaller trays. This afternoon I decided to design an FDM-optimized double deck bracket for users that want to add a second row of trays to their USTS. I have also updated the standard bracket for weight savings and strength improvements. I revised the 200x240mm tray with some fillets to reduce weight and print time. I plan to to make some 240mm deep versions of all tray sizes this evening and add them to the parts list.
