Thews Drive - A Quick Release Flying Extruder for Delta printers

Thews made a new extruder drive last week. I've been testing it and it works great! Best part about this drive is the quick release and being able to clean off filament stuck in the teeth of the spur drive. The whole idea of suspending the extruder like that is to reduce the length of the bowden tube. Like this I only need 2.1mm retracts and I don't get any blobbing or stringing anymore. The stepper motor is a Nema11 with a 27:1 ratio gearbox on it. Can be bought here or from many other places: http://www.omc-stepperonline.com/gear-ratio-271-planetary-gearbox-dual-shaft-nema-11-stepper-11hs120674dpg27-p-133.html It is designed for 1.75mm. I've just drilled it out and put PTFE to suit 3mm filament and it works great. You will need to put a PTFE liner down into the filament path for smooth operation. Fully parametric version is available on onshape: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/a3cb8db7b43254e191f1baf0/w/6af71ddfbe1a12a952c95254/e/e7b23ea0ffae0b05dfb65ede Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: doesn't matter Infill: 90% Notes: Just print it so it is strong. You may have to drill a few of the holes after printing. Don't drill out the hole with the hex screw in it. You want this one to stay tight, or else it will move up and down when you retract.
