These risers will provide about 5" of clearance between the bottom of the TOM with the electronics and the parts that do the printing. This is enough (for me, at least) to work fairly easily on just about any of the individual pc boards to check voltages, swap cables, etc. These risers are designed to work in conjunction with the excellent large and small TOM feet designed by Deltatgear: http://www.thingiverse.com/deltagear and Fillibar: http://www.thingiverse.com/fillibar. Thanks to the two of them for those original designs. This combination makes a nice stable support for the printing mechanism, enough so that I probably won't remove them even when I stop fooling around with the electronics, if that day ever comes. Instructions To get the ~5" of clearance you will need to have already printed 4 each of the smaller and larger feet: Smaller feet: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11812 Larger feet: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11414 All you need to do is fit the risers in between the bigger feet on the bottom, and the smaller feet on the top. If you have the rubber feet on the bottom piece and are bothered by the possibility of bowing, you can provide more support at the corners. One way to do that would be by printing a set of these: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13356 These could also be used with only the smaller feet on the top if not as much clearance was needed.
