I love Erin's edits, but the STL file were impossible to work with in FreeCAD and/or MatterControl. I'm just working with Erin's STL files to (1) reduce faces for ease of manipulating and (2) to create solids out of the 8 or 9 overlapping meshes so FreeCAD's Parts tools can then combine, add, subtract, etc. So far I am at the stage of taking Erin's "dog" (w/o chair) mesh and separating it into groups, each of which was converted to a solid, then copied/refined, then converted to a solid. I'm probably going to paint the eye and nose parts, but print a brown hat (same dark brown filament I'll use for the table and chairs). I also tend to print pieces with a minimal amount of supports and instead rely on multiple pieces, possibly with different orientations for easy printing that must be assembled after printing.
