Thomas the Train Trackmaster Lego Car

This is a train car for the Thomas the Train Trackmaster train set. This car has a flat "Lego" top for building on. This is my first Thingiverse submission, designed after hearing my children argue over who gets to play with which train car. Now they can build their own! This object was created with Sketchup Make. The SKP file is included, feel free to modify as you like. See the Post-Printing notes for more information. I'm not 100% satisfied with how you need to clip the top to the bottom with the "connector" piece in this model. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve that! Note: I borrowed the Lego components from the Lego Brick Thingiverse design by Ben Peters (bengineering): http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:377523 Print Settings Printer: Da Vinci Jr. 1.0w Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.4 Infill: 25% Notes: I printed this on my XYZPrinting Da Vinci Jr. 1.0w on the "Excellent" quality setting with a Raft. I think that the Raft was necessary on my printer due to the small hook pieces. Post-Printing Support Removal Post Printing Support Removal and Assembly After printing you will need to remove the 5 supports from the "bottom" wheeled part if you did not print the no_supports object. I was able to just cut these with a knife. I also needed to sand down the top piece where the connector clip goes to get a better fit. The wheels should start turning with little effort, but needed some working to get them loose enough to roll on their own. Assembly: 1) Place the "hook" parts in the appropriate opening on the "bottom" piece. The front hook's mouth should face down. 2) Place the "top" part on top of the "bottom" and then use the "connector" clip to hold the two together. My PLA filament was flexible enough to allow this, hopefully this works for you as well.
