This is a Thor Costume that I have designed myself. I am a 14 year old in 9th grade that just got involved in 3d designing and printing. I have been working on this for 15 days and have been learning from scratch ever since. I have learned the whole software by myself within the duration of this project. My school provided the filament and 3d printer needed to make this costume. I made a full Thor Armor piece and a twelve piece split Thor Armor set to put together. You need to glue the Thor Armor together if you print the pieces of the split Thor Armor. Also, before you print, you need to adjust the pieces to the size of your body. You can use whatever filament suits you. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .25 mm Infill: 20% Notes: Twelve piece split Thor Armor set needs to be glued together. Post-Printing Be Careful Be careful when taking off the raft and supports. How I Designed This How I Designed my Costume I designed my costume by starting from scratch, but I had an amazing dream of what it would end up to be. My project has taught me not only to design 3d objects, but how to learn on my own. This is an awesome field that I hope I can continue to explore and strive at. Standards NGSS Overview and Background About My Costume My costume took a lot of time and effort to design/print. I started this project 15 days ago, and worked about 3 hours each day on it. By doing this I have learned to design a costume that not only looks cool, but was very complicated to design. I am very grateful to be given this opportunity to strive in the field of 3d designing and can't wait to design another cool thing like this one. Lesson Plan and Activity What I did to Accomplish This Costume My plan was to make a costume that amazed people. When I thought of a superhero costume, I was hooked. Thor is one of my favorite superheroes with a costume that I could make. I had a dream of what my costume could turn out like and it turned out perfect. My activity of this costume was very short, but precise. For a first time designer, I'd say it's pretty good. Materials Needed Filament and 3d Printer You need any filament color you prefer and a compatible 3d printer that can print my costume.
