Parts for a Thor Delta Model Rocket This OpenSCAD program will generate stl files for the parts for a Thor Delta Model rocket. I made mine with a BT-60 body tube for the lower portion and a BT-5 body tube for the upper portion. These tubes yielded a model close to scale proportions. The user can modify the variables bodytubeid and bodytube2diameter to make the parts for different tube diameters. The variable phase is used to select which part is going to be generated. 0 is the lower portion of the tapered section, 1 is the upper portion, 2 is the nose, 3 is the fin. Setting phase to 4 will reveal an engine nozzle design that is incomplete. The dimensions were obtained from "Rockets of the World" by Peter Alway. This is a great reference book and all serious model rocketeers should own a copy. This and all other model rockets must be flown according to the National Association of Rocketry Model Rocket Safety code. This model has not been flown so the maker is responsible for making sure that it will fly safely. It is very unlikely that it will be stable with the scale fins. You are responsible for making the necessary additions or changes to make sure that the rocket will be stable and fly safely.
