Threaded Plugs for 5/8" and 7/8" Holes

thingiverse

This is a threaded plug and matching nut, for closing up a 5/8" hole in the wall of an enclosure or similar. We use these to plug up the hole we pre-drill in remote monitoring enclosures, to accept an optional/future external antenna that will utilize an N-female bulkhead. Although this bolt will plug a 5/8" (U.S. standard) hole, the bolt head (hex) is 22mm (metric) from flat-to-flat, because... I'm lazy and was already working in mm in my drawing. Anyway, we always use adjustable crescent wrenches to snug these down. For water/weatherproofing, we typically add a buna/nitrile o-ring of size ID: 9/16", OD: 3/4", diameter 3/32". But any o-ring in/around those dimensions will work fine (for example ID: 5/8", diameter 1/16" is pretty common and will work). EDIT: updated to have coarser threads that are much easier to print. EDIT2: new v10 (STL file) that has a looser nut, mates much easier.
