Three-D Dragon Curves

Three-D Dragon Curves

thingiverse

Here is a collection of 3-D dragon curves. The openSCAD code that generates the curves is partially parametric. The lines that generate the dragon curves are replaced by rectangular blocks and one can specify the length, width, and height of the blocks. An additional parameter is the degree of the curve; allowed values are 1 through 10. Stl files are provided for dragon curves of degree 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. The openSCAD code that generated the files is dragon_curves_3d.scad. Instructions Curves 4 through 9 are to the same scale; rectangular blocks 5 mm long, 2 mm wide, and 4 mm high replace the lines in the curves. They are printed in red. Dragon_10.stl is too large to fit my build platform at that scale. I used bricks 3.5 mm long, 2 mm wide and 4 mm high for dragon_10.stl. It is printed in blue. The curves can be printed with or without a raft. They are reasonably sturdy. Printing without a raft makes a more attractive model.
