Throated Box (Parametric)

Create a 3D box using OpenSCAD, featuring user-defined interior dimensions and a throat for the lid to sit on. The throat's length and sides' thickness are adjustable. This project was initiated to make a small gift box. If your print bed isn't large enough, separate top and bottom into distinct objects or comment out one and export the other. To handle variable calculations in OpenSCAD, I used two separate subs for thin and thick walls. Thin walls are based on the shortest dimension of the box, while thick walls depend on the side's dimension they reside on. The throat is the inner wall, and the outer wall encloses it with some space added for slop to ensure lid fitment. As perfection in 3D printing may vary, slop might be necessary, but it depends on your printer. This project is still a work in progress, with plans to fix variable issues and add a switch to control top, bottom, or both parts rendering without commenting out code.
