COMPONENT DESCRIPTION: LED stands for light-emitting diode which is basically a semiconductor which emits light when current flows through it. With LED we have to watch for the polarity, meaning the current has to flow from one side to the other. This is a THT (through hole technology) LED that comes with one shorter and one longer lead. They can usually be found in variant of colors: White, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Purple and Cyan (from which Purple and Cyan are less common). PINOUT:Shorter lead is GNDLonger lead is VCC/V++HOW TO USE: These are most commonly 3.3V LEDs and we typically charge it from Arduinos 5V digital pins, so it's good practice to use a resistor in series with the LED to lower the voltage that goes to the LED. Any resistor from 100 - 350 Ohms will do the trick, and you can also plug it to the Arduino without one, so don't worry to much about it. Common practice is to use 150 Ohm, you can choose to connect the resistor on the short lead or the long lead it doesn't matter.
