Tie-dye filament winder

thingiverse

For winding sections of nylon filament into 2 or 3 separate coils in preparation for colouring it with fabric dye. The winder handles spin on 6mm (1/4"?) coach bolts held in place with an embedded nut and one prong of the winder is attached with a wing nut on an embedded screw to facilitate easy removal of the wound filament. The other two prongs are a reasonably tight fit but can be glued in permanently if required. The filament winder can be used hand-held - or one of the handle can be left off which allows the winder to be mounted on it's optional base which in turn would be clamped or screwed to your work bench leaving you both hands free to control the filament. Things you'll need... Two m6 x 100mm coach bolts Two M6 hex nuts One M6 x 25mm thumb or hex head screw One M6 nut or wing nut
