As with all these awesome.PDO files on the internet. I have been working on a simplistic way of turning these really cool 3D helmets into wearable items. A little unorthodox but very simple, where by all I've done is use Windows 10 3D Builder to split the item into 8 separate .stl file/ pieces with the split function. Rotated them into the best printing position with as little overhang as possible. Making the shells anywhere between 4 - 6 and the infill at 10% - 20% I gathered that all that has to happen at the end is to dremel the waste product off and scrape out the infill which should leave a excellent shaped outer shell to then glue all the bits together leaving a perfect helmet reproduction. Well I started the idea today and have posted pics of the first 4 pieces. Now each piece uses approximately 500gms of plastic at just under 4kgs a helmet. Now most of that will be waste which can be reused or put to good use as acetone slurry. About $16.00 worth of plastic if your making your own filament. Good luck and enjoy ; )
