I am new to TIG welding and trying to eliminate variables. I got tired of measuring the stickout on my tungsten with a ruler, so I created this simple gauge. It was designed for a Lincoln #7 cup to provide 5mm stick out. This is an update to an earlier design that was unnecessarily enclosed on four sides, making it harder to use. I also found that 10mm (~3/8") was too much stick out. How to use: 1. Loosen torch back cap 2. Insert tungsten 3. Place stickout guide on cup 4. Tilt torch down, allowing tungsten to slide until it hits the end of the guide 5. Tighten torch back cap.
