This is a tutorial for creating a small voronoi box in Tinkercad. The resulting box (and lid) is small enough that students can print it in one class period. If your printer is well tuned, the lid will fit perfectly… If not, you may have to sand a bit on the lid to get it to fit. The resulting box is small enough to print in one class period. Lesson Plan and Activity Make sure students have Tinkercad accounts. Watch tutorial video. Create their own version following video instructions (lids can be customized). Print when file is completed. (Lids will need a tiny bit of support. Voronoi patterns with at least 2 or 3 mm webbing typically do not!) Materials Needed Computer with internet access Tinkercad account 3D printer & filament Skills Learned engineering tinkercad voronoi Duration of Lesson 1 - 2 hours Preparation Make sure students have Tinkercad accounts and access to YouTube instructional video. Make sure 3D printer is working and loaded with filament!
