Tip Holder (Octet)

Tip Holder (Octet)

thingiverse

This 2 part thing is designed to hold 8 Octet tips in line @ 9mm center-to-center spacing so that they can be manipulated together (using microtiter plates, etc.) The assembled tip holder includes a bar that can be used to eject the tips. This tool is most useful when manually loading or amine coupling tips off-line in order to save time and protein. The ejection mechanism needs improvement from an ergonomics/functional standpoint. Eventually I hope to make an indexed carrier that will assist in moving the tips from well to well accurately so that the biosensor surface(s) is not damaged by inappropriate contact with a solid object. Instructions Designed in OpenSCAD by Jeff Dantzler & printed in ABS by Metrix in Seattle. Make sure that you print with a high level of infill (80%+) and settings that give very good adhesion of layers. The slender projections are delicate and will break easily at the cone/cylinder junction on low infill (e.g. 50%) prints.
