TLC Plate Cutter

TLC Plate Cutter

This TLC plate cutter works quite nicely and comes to around $25 for parts and plastic. Owing to the print bed that is only 200X200 mm, several of the parts need to be glued together. Specifically, the two Base Plate portions need to be connected and the TLC Plate Slider needs to be connected to the "right" and "left" attachments (See photo). I accomplished this by making sure the edges are flat, and then brushing on dichloromethane to each of the parts to soften and fuse the PLA parts. The two slider guides and the TLC plate slider attachments need to be printed diagonally on the print bed. I purchased the TC-17 replacement cutter from amazon for $21 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BDBE2NG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_uxyZDb6HDQDES I'm not sure how the tolerances on the parts are going to be for other printers (e.g., the slider to slider guide sizing may be wrong on a different printer that is more accurate/ less accurate than mine). If that is the case, I can find a way to provide my fusion 360 files so you can adapt the design. Work partially supported by National Science Foundation (NSF) grant #1352431.
