Pedal toe cage (clip) strap guide to make it easier to get the shoe into the cages. I printed it with flexible Gembird TPE 95A, so it fits snugly on the shoe. With this strap guide, it is much easier to use the traditional metal toe cages with everyday footwear. Easy to mount this strap guide to the cage, see images. I bought a gravel bike, but the pedal mounted on the bike were simple flat platform ones. I’ve always ridden with traditional pedal cages + straps and I still do, so I mounted an old metal pedal cage (because I had a couple of at least 30-year-olds from my childhood and didn’t want to throw it away) on an aluminium pedal. (I prefer the "old" cage system because I want to use my bike with regular shoes.) During use, it turned out to be difficult to slip the shoe into the cage, the strap often jams and blocks the shoe resulting in more attempt need for correct foot inserting. I remember I hadn’t had such a problem in the far past with this metal cage, I put my shoe in a matter of moments and pulled my foot out if I had to, despite the fact that the size of the strap was always set perfectly tight for stable retention. Over time, my feet widened and therefore my shoes are wider in front as well, causing the shoe does not slip easily into the old metal cage. I’ve probably used narrower shoes in the past. My mountain bike used mostly for commuting on a daily basis doesn’t have this problem, I’ll sneak in and get out of the cages in no time at first attempt. Comparing the plastic cage on my MTB with the old metal cage, it can be seen that the plastic one guides the strap over two points, thus stretching it nicely and forming a relatively large "input slot" thereby reducing the chance the shoes stuck during inserting. The metal cage guides the strap at one place only, so it keeps the strap loose and gives a chance to get stuck by using a wider shoe. Almost all the plastic cages on the market use two guides on top of the cage. I found an ad where the metal clip is already made with two strip guides.... I still find it useful after a week of daily use. If it stays that way, I won't buy another pedal clip/cage system.
