Toner transfer printing with a laser printer and transparency film

The toner transfer method with an iron obviously doesn't work that well on finished 3D printed parts because the heat will deform the object. But the heat from the molten filament while printing the first layer will melt the toner and transfer it to the printed part. 1. Print the __mirrored__ image/text onto a transparency film with a laser printer. 2. Print the first layer of your object until you have enough points at which you can align the transparency on the build plate. (Don't let the build plate cool after) 3. Align and fix the transparency with tape on one side to the build plate so it won't move. 4. Remove the first layer of the print. 5. Drop some water in the middle of the print area and lower the transparency to the bed. 6. Use a paper towel to push the water and air bubbles from the middle of the print area to the edges. The transparency should now be sitting as tight as possible on the build plate. 7. Fix the other sides of the transparency to the build plate. Make sure it's as air tight as possible. 8. Lower the build plate to adjust for the transparency. 9. Print your object. 10. Remove the tape and peel the transparency off.
