Hi there! I'm happy about this new design and I have yet to go to the shop and buy the cups and print the cup holders, photos coming soon. INSTRUCTIONS: It's big! if you buy pint cups and your reprap is 20x20cm, it will be a bit too big. see end for size considerations. If your cups are 3CM in radius, resize by: 1/40 * 30, resize the model by 75%. The cups for this STL are 40mm radius. Adjust the height so that it is very stronger, it's 5mm high, perhaps make it 1cm high. Common shop sizes for cups are 250ml, 400ml, and pint glass cups. Print 10-15 on on their edge in one printer run, in a row, side by side, so that the extruder trails cement them in place for printing, sand them off lightly and you will have a lot of cup holders. THEORY: Drink cups are cool for keeping stones, batteries, screws, fuses, pens, because they are transparent and you can see your tools without having to look in a drawer. They also cost 3 cents a cup, so if you want to make a tidy box with 100 cups, it costs 3 dollars. The idea of the design is that you can print 10 cup holders in an afternoon, mount them with 60 transparent plastic cups, and dangle the cups on a string or put some metal shafts through the edges and have an elegant monolithic hexagon cabinet. If you hang the cups on a string, you can turn it around with a flick of the finger and look for the batteries, screws, things that you want. Color code every level a different color, with 1-2-3-4-5-6 dots on the different cups, by coloring the side of the cup holder. The scad file gives you the possibility to make 3-4-5-6 groups of cups. the hole in the middle is to put a string, it's 2.4mm You can make a dedicated wooden frame with a handle on top, which has a taught string inside it with 100 cups, that you can carry around the house for working. SIZE CONSIDERATIONS: for pint glasses, the widest piece of the print is about 32cm, the reprap 20x20 is 24-25 cm from corner to corner. for 40cl glasses, you can fit one on if you use the semi template and glue them with abs juice. for 25cl cups, it's 6cm diameter cups, and the widest of the model is 22cm, you can just about 4-5 of them oblique on the hotbed.
