Tools Standard Setting Extruder (Free)
cults3d
Here is a tool to control and adjust your extruder. Three versions: 1.75, 2.85 and 3mm filament Prerequisite: check that the standard tool is 120.0mm in length. Method of use: 1- Turn on the printer, filament in place. 2- Place the gauge tool on the filament so that it is in contact with the extruder, make a mark on the filament with a felt pen. This gives the dimension of 120 mm 3- Read the pitch of the extrusion motor (steps/mm) 4- Start an extrusion of 100,0 mm 5- Check that the base of the felt mark is at the control triangle. If it is, your extruder is set up correctly. If not, do the following: 6- Measure the distance between the felt mark and the extruder with a ruler. 7- Calculate the new steps/mm with the formula : [New Steps] = 100 / (120 - [measured distance] ) x [steps read] 8- Change the steps/mm parameter with the calculated value, save this value. 9- Switch the printer off and on again 10- Check that the calculated value is the one stored. 11- Repeat the control starting from the point n°1 After a change of my extruder, it took me 4 cycles to make it perfect. Good setting.
