Toothpick dispenser with lever mechanism to reduce the stroke down to 40%.

It can be printed out without support by common FDM and SLA printers.

It can use as either normally up (push to get a toothpick) or down (pull to get) style.

Inspired by the following thing, but designed from scratch.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3283381

June 6, 2021 : The model is slightly improved to avoid the upper body comes off from the base.

Video

Assembly

This toothpick dispenser is designed for 65mm toothpicks common in Japan. If you have longer or shorter toothpicks, please scale it (and it might work properly regardless to the scale).
Print all parts. Supports are not necessary. Orientation of the parts are already set in STL files. Remove debris and blobs, then deburr all parts carefully. If the motion is not smooth, it might drop toothpicks when you get it. Drop the parts into the base body. If you do not use rubber band, the board (part with elephant figures) stays up, and you should pull up the upper body to take a new toothpick. By attaching a rubber band to pull down the board, you can get a new toothpick by pushing down the main body. June 6, 2021: The upper body now has a key to keep it stay with the base.

Alternative way to attach rubber band

Category: Kitchen & Dining
