TopsCNC Belt Driven

TopsCNC Belt Driven

thingiverse

This is a modification to TopsCNC by Topsie to allow for belt driven X and Y axis. Print 2 of the Y axis mount, and one of the X axis mounts. To wire the opposite side Y axis motor, I ran the wire through the middle of the 2040 extrusion. I initially built the TopsCNC with the linear rods, but found they were slightly bent and would bind up near the ends of the motion. I assume this should also save most people time and money, as sourcing long linear rods is not cheap nor quick, while belts are cheap and easy to get. I just used an M4 Vslot nut and screw to mount the belts in the extrusion. You can pull the belt through the end of the extrusion to adjust tension before locking down. I suggest moving the axis back and forth to work out even tension before locking down. Step files included for easy modification. The Y axis mounts replace "Top_Exterior_Left_Y_Axis_v1-1.stl" and "Top_Exterior_Right_Y_Axis_v1-1.stl" in the normal design.
