Topwater "Spook" Fishing Lure Work in Progress - I am also currently working on a version with a bill to turn it into a diving "jerkbait" Baits shown in pictures were painted with an airbrush ^I'm working on my airbrushing skills :) Holds up to four standard metal BBs to add weight. (4.5mm) Fits two size 10 treble hooks. (You could go larger) Note: I used 3 BBs when I created mine. It may take some trial and error to make the bait float. However, I think the bait may work decent as a sinking lure, but I haven't tested it yet. Bait has a nice topwater side to side action. "Walking the dog" I used epoxy to secure the screw eyes into their designated holes. I used 1/2" (.062") stainless steel screw eyes. Slide on split rings to hold the hooks and one for the line tie. (To give more action) I used a soldering iron and some clamps to fuse the two halves together and make it look like it was one piece. I would recommend applying some epoxy to the insides before doing this to make the bait more durable and stronger. Don't get the iron too hot or you will burn the plastic. Also be careful of the fumes, i'm sure inhaling plastic isn't good for you. Here's a video of what I mean if my instructions weren't clear. I however didn't use any extra material or filament like in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hmn_m9Vxxs Amazon has lots of cheap Chinese stick-on eyes for the bait. I airbrushed the baits with Createx Colors water based airbrushing paints, and applied an epoxy topcoat to seal and protect the paint. Stay tuned for more updates to the design and more fishing related stuff.
