Tormach RapidTurn Stock Sleeves Liners

Tormach RapidTurn Stock Sleeves Liners

These are 2 different stock sleeve liners I created for the Tormach RapidTurn. I noticed that long thin stock run through either the 5c collet or chuck will get warped in the middle when spun. I run stock between 18"-24" when I start a long part run and feed it through the spindle. The longer the stock and thinner it is, the more chance it will warp when spinning. I created these two spindle liners to help support the longer stock. Liners are used in large lathes all the time in auto bar feeders for the same reason. There are two sized OD liners in SLT format (a tight-fitting 27mm and a looser fitting 26.5 sleeve) and the Fusion 360 file so you have created your own for any stock size you need to support. Each liner is in two pieces that are threaded to fit so that it can be printed in any 3d printer that can print up to 140mm in Z. I printed in PETG in a very fast mode .3mm layer high that the threads still worked.
